Wow wow wow. I love coming to Joe & Joy! I always have a great experience and such wonderful service. Polite and welcoming staff, a gorgeous look and feel of the interior, and incredible food! If you go to Joe & Joy I have a few recommendations for you! Be sure to try their pies (golden homemade pastry - Yum!) delicious burgers, and you certainly can’t go wrong with one of their gorgeous mini cakes. Joe & Joy is not only my local, but my favourite!

Do you deliver to my area?
All Cake, Gift and Bakery orders are couriered using a careful, local independent courier company. They deliver Monday - Friday as far north as Palmerston North City limits, and as far south as Wellington. Excluded areas include Makara, areas north of Upper Hutt, and rural beach areas. We do offer rural delivery for areas between towns, but if your rural address is far from a State Highway, it is likely our courier does not deliver there. Deliveries to Karori and Maoribank incur the rural address charge. We can deliver to Peka Peka and Te Horo Beaches. If you are unsure whether we can deliver to your address, please email us on hello@joeandjoy.co.nz prior to ordering. Q: I am trying to checkout but my address is not bringing up any delivery options for my order. A: Is your delivery address within the Palmerston North - Wellington area? If so, is it quite a remote location? If so, we may not deliver to your area. Please email us to check whether we deliver to your address. A: Is the cake you are trying to order one that we have marked as not suitable for courier? Our Unicorn Cakes and Two Tier Event Cakes are some examples of cakes that aren't suitable for courier, or only suitable for delivery within the Kāpiti area, due to them being more fragile or perishable. Q: I want my cake delivered at a specific time of day. Why can't I specify this? A: All of our cakes travel by an independent local courier, other wise we would spend all day driving around delivering them instead of making you more delicious treats :D Because our awesome local courier has a varying schedule each day, we don't always know what time they will be in your area. We have no control over the delivery time. If you order for delivery, you do so on the understanding that it will arrive sometime between 9am and 5pm. If this doesn't suit, it may work better for you pick your cake up in store. Q: Can I track my order? A: No. Because we use an independent local courier company, their system is not automated to send a notification when the cake is delivered. When you place your order you will receive an email with a tax invoice/receipt, and you will receive another email to say that your order is processing. This means we have put your order into our production planning and you can rest assured that your order will be delivered on the day you have chosen. Unfortunately we cannot carry out specific requests such as calling the customer ten minutes before delivery etc. Q: What happens if my cake is damaged in transit, or someone takes it from my doorstep because I wasn't home to receive it? A: We very rarely, if at all, have any trouble with damage to cakes, which is why we have used the same independent local courier company for years, however all cakes and baking do travel at the customers risk. Q: I want a different cake than you have on your website. Can I tell you what I want, or ask you to change colours, toppings etc for one of the cakes you have listed? A: Unfortunately, No. We have a set range, and all of the colour, flavour, size colour etc choices that we offer are already in the product options. Q: Do you provide a wedding cake service with cake tasting and custom orders? A: No we don't but we do have several options in our set cake range that are often ordered for weddings, with the customer adding flowers themselves. We do have wedding toppers in our cake topper range. We sell little mini cakes in our Eatery daily if you would like to buy some to sample our cake flavours. Q: How far ahead of time can I make my order? A: We take orders as far as 3 months in advance. Q: Do you do buffet meals, offer serving staff, and hire equipment? A: No. We specialise in plattered, ready to serve, finger food. We don't offer serving staff or organise the hire of serving items or equipment. There are some great companies in Kāpiti that will be able to assist you with this.
Allergen Information
At Joe and Joy we take allergies very seriously. While we would absolutely LOVE to provide safe options for every dietary requirement, your safety is our first priority at all times. Because we operate a busy production kitchen which handles Wheat and other Gluten containing Cereals, Milk and Milk Products, Soy, Egg, Peanuts, Tree Nuts, Fish, Sesame, and Sulphites on a daily basis, and some of our ingredients have trace warnings for Shellfish and Lupin, we are unable to make any claims that our products are free from allergens. There is a very real risk of allergen contamination due to airborne flour, and trace amounts of allergens on equipment, racks and ovens. If you or the person you are ordering product for has a food intolerance and is fine with trace amounts, you may be happy to order our products. If you or the person you are ordering for have a severe allergy such as Coeliac Disease or is at risk of any kind of Anaphylactic reaction, our products should not be considered safe. Catering Information
Quick, easy online ordering. Platters of fresh Finger Food for catering birthdays, funerals, corporate functions, lunch box catering. Quick turnaround on short notice orders. Catering Delivery Info: Our catering products are not suitable for courier delivery. We will personally deliver orders over $400 (catering product section only), as far north as Ōtaki and as far south as Raumati, and within Waikanae Central orders over $150. Orders for locations outside of these areas, or smaller orders than our minimum amounts, will need to be collected in store. Saturday delivery is by arrangement only, for large functions. Please contact us to enquire about this. Saturday pickup is fine for any order amount. We are closed Sundays, Mondays and all Public Holidays. Our catering products come ready to serve on attractive cardboard trays with covers, and you can also purchase plates, napkins and cutlery through us if required.
Return/Refund Policy
We understand that these are uncertain times for ordering Cakes or Catering for events, so we try to be as flexible as possible with postponed and cancelled orders. As long as we have not already made or started work on your cake, catering or other product ordered, we are more than happy to either put your order on hold (helpful for postponed events) or provide either a store gift card or credit for online use. In the event that we have already started your order, we will credit back less the wasted time/cost of ingredients, and if possible we will try and on-sell an already prepared order so that we can credit it back to you, however this cannot be guaranteed, and is not possible for cakes with names on them. It may not be possible to cancel an order on the day it was due to be collected/delivered, and for some orders we may have already put your order into production the day before, however we will always endeavour to do what we can to help. All orders sent by courier do travel at the customers risk. We do use a careful local courier company, and have had next to no problems with delivery over many years of our cakes travelling with them, however it is preferred that you pick up orders where possible to avoid the risk of damage during delivery. Because of health and safety requirements, we are unable to accept returns of any of our products once they have left our premises, unless the item is being returned because of quality issues, or a mistake made by Joe & Joy. If an order needs to be refunded because of a mistake made by Joe & Joy, the amount due will be refunded back in the same way payment was made.
